The Safety Net supports local Mentoring Programme

The Safety Net Initiative is a community interest group which believes passionately in investing in the rich vein of untapped talent amongst our youth and helping to nurture and support its development where possible.

As such, our own Simon Muhammad recently participated in a Mentorship programme hosted by the Westside Young Leaders Academy (WYLA) which brought young developing minds into contact with over 30 African-Caribbean elders imparting and sharing their invaluable experience, guidance and wisdom.

Here’s Simon engaged in conversation with a young student during the Westside Young Leaders Academy’s mentoring program.

Putting on a mentoring session for the boys was such a priceless gift that will forever be apart of their lives.

Today was such a powerful session, that it reminded me how fortunate I was as a parent knowing that my son was having seeds sown into his spirit that would one day manifest into helping him become an amazing black man who was impacting the world.

Thank you to all the men/entrepreneurs, that came today, that gave their time, experiences, fun, laughter and wisdom. What an overwhelming  morning. To watch these boys/young men feel a sense of pride and belonging. It takes a village to bring up a good citizen and a leader.
